You know you think your funny. Well, now's your chance. The Manhattan Comedy Club offers comedy instruction so now you can bring out the comedian in you.

Whether it be for fun, to help improve your public speaking for business purposes, or you want to be America's next great comedian, we offer a golden opportunity to get started.

The Manhattan Comedy club offers two levels of classes, Novice and Advanced, with two of the most renowned teachers of the craft.

They will use their 40 years of combined experience to unlock the mysteries of performing stand up comedy.

Each class will culminate with you performing a 5 minute stand up comedy set at the prestigious Manhattan Comedy Club.

NOVICE

A four week class for students with little or no stand up comedy experience.  This course is a hands on introduction and start off point to performing Stand Up. This class will explore what you think is funny and get to know what others think is funny about you.  You will learn techniques to translate what you think is funny into jokes that the audience can relate to.

The best thing of all, you'll actually be doing it.

You will learn joke formats, constructing jokes, delivery, stage presence and persona, and the intangibles that come with live comedy performance.

This all takes place in a fun, pressure free, supportive atmosphere.

This class will be taught by comedy veteran and renowned comedy teacher Chris Murphy.  Chris is a regular at the New York and Broadway Comedy Clubs in NYC and was one of the main stays of New York City's original comedy club, the legendary, Original Improv, where he shared the stage with many of today's comedy greats.

As a comedian, Chris has appeared on the national television shows Evening at the Improv, and Comedy Central's "Tough Crowd."

Chris' students have gone on to appear on MTV, Showtime, Last Comic Standing, as well as filling out the rosters of many of New York City's  hottest comedy clubs.

Fee:  $400. Includes 3 two hour classes, a one on one private coaching session with Chris and a 5 minute performance at The Manhattan Comedy Club.

ADVANCED CLASS

An eight week series of more intensive classes featuring two instructors for those who have been through the novice classes and have been bitten by the comedy bug. These classes will help you with the steps you need to take to bridge the gap from open mic comic to professional comedian.

Now that you've gotten your feet wet in the beginner classes, this class will help you find your "Voice."

Our experienced instructors will help you separate yourself from the pack, using many of the basic skills you've learned in the novice courses, but now zeroing in on what  you need to do to get noticed and get work.

This class features two performances, the first on the fourth week at The Manhattan Comedy Club and will culminate on the eighth and final week with a second 5 minute performance at a top New York City Comedy club.

This class will be taught by Chris Murphy and Rich Francese.  For more information on Rich please hit the "About Rich" button on the menu.

Fee:  $950.  Includes six weeks of classes,  a private coaching session, and two performances, one at The Manhattan Comedy Club and one at a top New York City comedy club.
